AI image editing: clean up, re-background and restyle product photography
Product photography is the biggest quality gap on most South African catalogues: a phone photo on a shop counter, a supplier JPEG at 400 pixels, and one good studio shot from 2019. The AI image editor exists to lift that floor without a studio booking.
It is preset-driven rather than a blank prompt box, because the same five jobs come up over and over.

Five jobs, not infinite prompting
Cleanup removes the clutter around a product shot. Background replacement puts it on a consistent surface so a category grid stops looking like a jumble sale. Lifestyle generates a contextual scene. Enhance improves an image that is simply too soft. Custom takes a prompt when the four presets do not fit.
Presets matter operationally: a merchandiser can run 300 products through "background replacement" and get a consistent result, which is not what happens when 300 people write 300 prompts.
- Consistent output across a category, not one-off art direction
- Higher model tiers available when the hero image justifies the cost
- Credits deducted per generation, so spend is visible
Originals are never overwritten
Generated images are stored as new assets against the product. The original supplier or studio file stays exactly where it was, which is what makes it safe to experiment on a live catalogue.
At catalogue scale
For hundreds or thousands of products, image work runs through the Product Content Lab's bulk pipeline, which is resumable and idempotent, so a run that stops halfway can be continued without re-billing work that already completed.
Questions we get asked
Does editing replace my original photo?
No. Generated images are added as new assets and the original is retained.
How is AI image work billed?
From a credit wallet, deducted per generation, with a selectable model tier per run.
Can I run it across the whole catalogue?
Yes, through the Product Content Lab's bulk pipeline, which is resumable and idempotent.
