Promotions: vouchers, combo deals and sales that switch themselves off

Promotions go wrong in two ways: the discount stacks in a way nobody modelled, or the sale is still running in February. GoGee's promotional tooling is deliberately explicit, priced bundles, voucher rules with limits, and sale windows with an end date the platform enforces.

Vouchers with real constraints

A voucher can be a percentage, a fixed amount, or store credit. It can require a minimum subtotal, run between two dates, cap total uses and cap uses per shopper. It can also carry a QR code, which is what makes the same voucher usable at a counter as well as online.

Vouchers also record where they came from, issued manually, in bulk, from a prize draw, as a refund, or by an automation. When finance asks why discount is up 4% this month, the source field answers it.

  • Minimum subtotal protects margin on small orders
  • Per-user limits stop one code being shared into a loss
  • Store-credit vouchers keep refunds inside the store

Bundles are priced, sales are scheduled

Bundle promotions use combo deals: a set of products with a quantity each and one bundle price, live between a start and an end timestamp. Storewide sales work by holding the pre-sale price alongside the sale price with a sale start and end, so reverting a sale restores the original price exactly rather than approximately.

One honest limit: this is not an unlimited rules engine. Buy-X-get-Y and member-only price lists are not implemented as automatic checkout rules, bundles, thresholds on vouchers, and business-account pricing tiers cover that ground instead.

Automations that issue the voucher for you

Automation rules watch for triggers, an abandoned basket is one of them, and issue a voucher from a template when a trigger fires, with each run recorded. That gives you recovery incentives without a marketer sitting in the admin generating codes.

Questions we get asked

Do sales need to be turned off manually?

No. Sales carry an end date and the pre-sale price is retained so the original price is restored exactly.

Does GoGee support buy-X-get-Y?

Not as an automatic checkout rule. Fixed-price combo deals and voucher thresholds cover most of those campaigns.

Can one voucher be limited to one use per customer?

Yes, vouchers carry both a maximum total uses and a usage limit per user.
